Life is like photography -
we develop from the negatives

Hey there!

My name is Dominik and I live in Augsburg, Germany. For me, photography does not mean freezing the moment but catching emotions that touch people, just like Joel Meyerowitz says, “[...] Fill up the frame with feelings, energy, discovery and risk, and leave room enough for someone else to get in there."
My fire of passion for photography was early lit during my school days as I attended a course learning to develop pictures and films manually in a small darkroom. Those days have surely passed but I still own a Canon EOS 1v. These days however, I usually prefer a digital single-lens reflex camera. In regards to my love of nature, I choose to use a SLR to take pictures of magnificent landscapes as well as various flora and fauna. Their beauty is only revealed to us when we have a closer look - that's why macro photography in particular means emotions and enthusiasm to me. Just like Don McCullin summarizes:

“For me, Photography is not just looking, it's feeling. If you can't feel what you're looking at, then you're never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures".
